Adoption form is a must

Abandoned , Streetie , Indies, or pups - whatever the category, please always have an adoption form filled up. This is not only mandatory by the Animal Welfare Board Of India Member, but also in shows that the little life that you have rescued and cared for so much has the dignity of some paperwork. It only gives a sense of structure of continuity officialdom and formality to the process, but can also ensure, long-term impact on the care of the animal. Adoption is a serious process and must be followed diligently even if the adopter is very well known to you

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has several rules for adopting animals, including:

  • Documentation: You'll need to provide an adoption form, proof of identity, and proof of address.

  • Background check: You may be asked questions about your background.

  • Advice: You may receive advice on how to care for your new pet.

  • Affidavit: You may need to sign an affidavit promising not to sell or abandon the animal, and to get it regular veterinary checkups.

  • Rules: You'll need to follow state protection and preservation laws,

The AWBI is an advisory body to the Central and State Governments, and is responsible for implementing the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 (PCA Act

7) The adoption of animal shall not create an irrevocable right to the person adopting the animal, and the infirmary, pinjrapole, SPCA, Animal Welfare Organisation or Gaushala, as the case may be, may from time to time inspect the animal and in case it finds that the person who has adopted the animal is not providing adequate care

The Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has guidelines for adopting dogs, including:

From a shelter or NGO perspective .

  • Adoption process

Each shelter has its own adoption process, but you can expect to:

    • Submit an adoption form with your details

    • Provide documents to prove your identity and address

    • Answer questions and receive advice on how to care for your new pet

  • Rights of the adopter

The adopter is the lawful guardian of the animal, but does not have the same rights as an owner.

  • Responsibilities of the adopter

The adopter is responsible for ensuring the animal's well-being and preventing unnecessary pain or suffering.

  • Inspections

The animal can be inspected by the shelter or organization that placed it for adoption. If the shelter finds that the adopter is not providing adequate care, they can take possession of the animal.

You’re also welcome to use the online form www.bit.ly/Dogadopt It’s easy to share and fill as it’s a Google form. But there the data remains on my Google drive.
